you to join us at any stage during your pregnancy or postpartum period.
$165 per Couple
A must-have for all new parents! In this class, you will be educated on topics ranging from end of pregnancy through the immediate postpartum period. Some of the themes we discuss include preparation and expectation for a hospital birth; signs of labor; stages of labor; pain medication options (including epidurals) as well as suggestions for things to do in each stage of labor to cope with contractions; possible interventions in labor including inductions, monitoring and cesarean sections. Class concludes with postpartum concerns and resources to help when the baby arrives. Class is seated, but stretching or walking around at any point is certainly welcome. Snacks are provided. All clients will receive our Stork Childbirth Education Survival Guide complete with a hospital packing list, when to call your health care provider, recommended pediatricians, lactation consultant and doula referrals.
Baby Care and Infant CPR
$165 per Couple
The most comprehensive new parent class is perfect for those expecting their first child as well as for grandparents, nannies, or others who will be involved in the care of your infant. In this class you will be educated on the care of a normal newborn, as well as learn what is expected in those first few weeks of life. Topics discussed include feeding, sleeping, diapering, swaddling and bathing with demonstrations. The first half of the class is seated, followed by hands-on practice of the learned techniques and ending with American Heart Association Friends and Family CPR and choking lessons. All clients will receive our Stork Childbirth Education Baby Guide complete with a pediatrician referral list, when to call your pediatrician, lactation services, newborn care specialists and resource lists of what to read up on for your new baby.
$115 Couple | $75 Mom Only
A class for any mom or partner interested in learning more about breastfeeding. Topics discussed include the importance of supply and demand as well as the physiology of milk production; how to breastfeed and common positions for breastfeeding; proper latch; how to be sure baby is getting enough milk; common issues in breastfeeding and how to overcome them; and returning to work and pumping. All clients will receive our Stork Lactation Guide complete with a lactation consultant referral list, breast pump order form and lactation resources.
If you are unable or decide not to attend your class for any reason, there are few things you need to know. It is imperative that you notify us immediately because if you cancel within 7 days of your class date you will receive a 50% refund. However, if you cancel more than 7 days before your scheduled class, you will receive a full refund. Finally, if you opt to reschedule your class, there is a rescheduling fee of $25.
